Some of the conversation bleeds over into other pages, but it was required in order to get it all. Fallon and I are being painted as witches of the highest order, if that is what y'all would like to think of us based on one person's "statement of facts" I am sorry. I do not condone people acting as this person has. Fallon has been a guardian of children's safety on this game since DAY ONE. Fallon was looking out for the emotional well being of the child in question. Being subjected to the invective some players hurl at spamming teams is something no one should have to deal with, much less a child. The adult in this scenario should have said NO firmly and left, suggested she play another school, any number of things. Instead she decides that since she has had a "bad day" she will use this cheap tactic to make herself feel better. There was no thought about the people on the other side of the battle. How did they feel losing in 2-3 rounds? What if THEY had a bad day also and just wanted to have some fun PvPing with friends in the Arena? Does the good of ONE person override the good of the many? She claimed that the other team could use any number of spells to defeat them. It is possible to defeat a tempest spamming team, but only with A LOT of luck on your side. I know TPC is working on a way for us to survive the onslaught, but many teams are abandoning the Arena.
Please, please don't allow one person to cloud your judgment of others. There are always 2 sides to a story, and one picture IS worth 1000 words.
Thank you for this "Mr. Lincoln's Eye" view of the issue. The conversation, and it's inferrence, are made crystal clear.
ReplyDeleteIt is the responsibility of EVERY wizard to look out for each other, ESPECIALLY the kids.
If we do not lead by example, who will?
I have said this over and over. It was the very FIRST match. I was not finished teaching my young friend. The deck was going to be changed, but I was never given a chance to teach them different ways. That's my entire point! And btw important chunks of this conversation are missing. I was going to tell the person who wanted to try this kind of method that it was boring and no challenge. And I was going to recommend that she should change it up a bit and put more fun back into it. I wanted to play with the deck (put in lords only, or bolts only or tritons blah blah - just change it up) for a few hours with an all storm team for fun. But again I was never given a chance. I stepped back into Arena and this whole conversation started. And the person left and sadly kept doing an tempest spamming team. I didn't catch her in time to have an important teaching conversation with her about it because of this.
ReplyDeleteTeach by showing a way that does NOT allow another team to move/play is boring? Did you NOT gain 24 rank from that team? Did you NOT gain 14 Arena Tickets? Be a responsible adult and say NO, I am not going to do this. If YOUR way of teaching is "Hands on" and you want to show that temp spamming is no fun do it in an MFP. Do NOT subject innocent people in the Arena to a cheap tactic and lose of rank AND crowns for a match. PERIOD.
ReplyDeleteAfter this conversation, she went ahead and did a temp spammer all night with other people. She learned NOTHING because I wasn't able to stop her in time. I wonder how many people she made lose the matches. Incredibly sad.
ReplyDeleteIt still does not negate the fact that YOU went in there and condoned her doing it by participating! PERIOD! YOU are the adult YOU could have said I will NOT do this, its wrong. YOU chose not to. THAT is what happened. How do we really know you were only going to do ONE little match? You have shown yourself to be a dishonest person in the past, always attempting to make others see you in a better light. I know this, OTHERS know this also. No one has called you on it in order to keep the community a more tranquil place. Well NO MORE. You can chose to continue playing the pity card if you care to. The more you refute what is in the pictures, the more you show you true colors.
ReplyDeleteI personally am not painting anyone "a witch", I respect both sides of the story. No matter who did what, I don't think it was THAT bad of a deal though, so I don't think its worth beating up one another over, honestly. As annoying as Temp Spammers are, I don't think overreacting helps
ReplyDeleteAnd Cass.. please stop yelling at Kelsey. I still respect her and its just sad to see you two, as adults, virtually bickering. Unfollow her or whatever, just leave her alone, she realizes her mistake. And for the record, I count no dishonesty in her past. She is a very nice person who made a mistake, and some choose to see her in a better light by THEMSELVES, because she has worked so hard for SotS and such.
ReplyDeleteThis is sad, DON'T STOP PVPING! I stopped because of something exactly like this and the two people kind of talking for me got banned for trying to protect an innocent bystander. Because the other wizard was mad we won with a Polymorph Gobbler.
ReplyDeleteStride on!

Seeing as the several lines of the conversation is repeated at the top of the screens, I can't see my way clear to swallowing the idea that "chunks of the conversation are missing." Obviously everyone knows that I am good friends with Cass & Fallon but there are no sides to be taken in this situation. What happened has been made clear. Just some unsolicited advice: whenever *I* have to eat crow, I like to eat it hot. And, once again, I will remind everyone: You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
ReplyDeleteSpamming is a fair tatic if ya got it use it, who are you to say what we can and cant play
ReplyDeleteThe point of this post (and the one before it) is NOT about spamming, although it is the cheapest of tactics. These posts are concerning another matter entirely -- TEACHING a child to use this cheap tactic and be subjected to the invective and hateful words which will be thrown at her by the opposing side. PERIOD. Sorry you seem to not get the point.
ReplyDeleteAnd my team and I -- Team Perfect Catch -- promote the fun aspects of the Arena. The Arena is a place to test yourself against human players, not AI. To test your deck build and thoughts processes against something else that also thinks. Tempest spammers don't THINK though do they? They don't consider the people on the other side of the computer screen at all it appears. They use the same few cards over and over and over ... knowing if they get first turn the other side will be wiped out by the third turn. So TPC doesn't seen spamming as fair, and most other teams don't either.
